Easy Events Birthday

I seem to have trouble remembering January birthdays!  My granddaughter's is the January ninth and I am always late with her card.  But here it is at last.  I hope it arrives on time.

I chose the little birthday cake from the Easy Events stamp set. I wanted to paper piece it, so I began by stamping the image 3 times on colored card stock and embossing  with black E.P.  I cut out the white cake stand, the  blue cupcake, and the yellow icing  and glued them together.  The other images are from the So Happy for You stamp set (retired).
The So Saffron scallop edge was cut with the Large Scallop Edgelits die.  The red  heart and silver stars are bits of glimmer paper and were cut out with the Small Heart Punch and the Holiday Collection Framelits dies. I found a piece of black an white checked gingham ribbon to tie around the top of the scallop.  I just had to add a tiny rhinestone and color it red so there would be a cherry on top of the cupcake!  That finished it up.
Hope she enjoys it!
This card is entered in the  Freshly Made Sketches challenge #67
and the Cards Galore Challenge blog 'Anything Goes".
Thanks for taking time to stop by today.  Have a good day!
