Stamping with Friends

While on my travels this summer I got to attend a fun stamping event.
My sister invited some friends to come stamp!
At 9:00 in the morning everyone arrived with a bag full of projects prepared for the group.  They also had prepared a yummy dish for lunch!

I loved the projects that everyone created for us to make!

We took a break at lunch time.
The food was delicious!  Those Ohio gals know how to cook!

We resumed stamping and worked until mid afternoon.
It was so much fun seeing my friends again and sharing stamping with them.
Thanks to my sister, Cindy, for hosting the event!

Shaker or not

Here's a card that I made for a swap.  I liked how it turned out so I decided to make a shaker card out of it!
I used the Stampin' Up shaker frames which really simplify making a shaker card.

                Regular card                                                                   Shaker Card

The card stock colors are Real Red, Gumball Green, and Whisper White.  The stamp set  Occasions Alphabet was used for the M, and the rest of the stamp's sentiment was stamped inside the card.
The Northern Flurry embossing folder made the perfect background for my card.
Other supplies include chunky glitter, crystal effects to attach the glitter, Window sheet, regular  glitter, shaker frame, Apothecary Labels framelits, and a circle punch.

I found that tapping the inside of the window sheet with an embossing buddy helped keep the glitter from sticking to the window sheet.  This was a fun project to do.  Hope you like it!

Four Frames Hello

This is a card we made at my stamp club this month.  It uses the Four Frames stamp set, Little Leaves Sizzlits, a woodgrain embossing folder, and a simple banner.  The bird was colored with colored pencils.

The base card  and the banner are made with Chocolate Chip and Pumpkin Pie card stock.

This card design was a case from the card on page 43 in the Annual Catalog, with just a few changes.
I love getting ideas from our SU catalog!

Thankful for You

I've always loved the Houndstooth pattern, and when I got my Stampin' Up! embossing folder, I decided to see if I could make the design pop with color. After  running it through the big shot I inked my brayer with black ink and rolled it over the raised design.
Here's a tip if you plan to try this technique:  Ink the brayer thoroughly and roll it gently over the card stock.   Just keep on inking the brayer and rolling it over the card until it reaches the color density you desire.  If you get in a hurry and use too much pressure you risk inking up the flat, unraised part of the design.

The Thankful for you sentiment is from one of the Hostess sets in the Annual Catalog called Banner Greetings.  The 1/8 " real red taffeta ribbon is one of my favorites.  The large oval punch provides the perfect background for the banner.

Thanks for stopping by.  Have a wonderful day!

Happy Birthday Owl

I have a friend who loves cute cards so I decided this one would be just what I needed to make.  The design was CASED from a card by demonstrator Kerry Bunting.  I love how this happy little owl is dressed in pink  flowers and holds a bunch of balloons.
The sentiment is from the Punch Bunch stamp set.
This will be a hand-delivered card because of the fun ribbon and bow on the card front.  I hope it will be a happy surprise when she opens it!
