Thankful for You

I've always loved the Houndstooth pattern, and when I got my Stampin' Up! embossing folder, I decided to see if I could make the design pop with color. After  running it through the big shot I inked my brayer with black ink and rolled it over the raised design.
Here's a tip if you plan to try this technique:  Ink the brayer thoroughly and roll it gently over the card stock.   Just keep on inking the brayer and rolling it over the card until it reaches the color density you desire.  If you get in a hurry and use too much pressure you risk inking up the flat, unraised part of the design.

The Thankful for you sentiment is from one of the Hostess sets in the Annual Catalog called Banner Greetings.  The 1/8 " real red taffeta ribbon is one of my favorites.  The large oval punch provides the perfect background for the banner.

Thanks for stopping by.  Have a wonderful day!

Oh I love this-it's so classic and clean looking. Black and red always look so good together.

Thanks, Gale. I love that look also. I also like to brayer to give added interest to the texture.
