Frosty gift card holder

I was so excited to see the Best of Snow set for the November selection of the Best of  25 years stamps featured by Stampin' Up! as part of the 25th anniversary of the company.
It reminded me of my retired Frosty stamp set which I have saved among my favorites.

I used my Frosty stamp set to make this adorable gift card holder. 

I also used a greeting from the retired stamp set Bells and Boughs.

The envelope punch board was used to make the clever closure.

I found a tutorial with directions for this project from Jackie Topa.

 Below is a picture showing the inside of the card.  I love how the insert pulls out to reveal the gift card.

The next photo shows a closeup of the pocket.  I wrapped a strip of dsp around the pocket to hold it in place.  

This is a wonderful project to use for a gift card holder and would hold cash or a check as well!   The Best of Snow stamp set will work perfectly on this project.

Gift Card holder

Here's a gift card holder I made for my son for his birthday. He'll probably spend it for his lawn improvements, so I chose the cute Wheel Thing stamp set for the front. I had a piece of the orange designer paper from several years ago, and I thought it was the right color for matching up with the orange Home Depot logo on the gift card. The paper also had some green stripes in it, so I carried that color to the inside of the holder. The wheelborrow was embossed with VersaMark and black E. P. The sentiment on the front, It's a Guy Thing, was computer generated.

The holder is made with 1/2 sheet of paper cut the long way. It is scored at 2 inches from one end and 4.5 inches from the other end. I used a 1 3/8 in. circle punch to make the half-circle punchout before folding the small end in and fastening with two gold brads. I cut a backing in black to cover the prongs and accent the card. I wrote a brief message on the green left inside of the holder. Love using up old stuff and creating something fun at the same time! Thanks for looking! Have a great day.

Gift Card Holder

This is a card for a friend's retirement. The top opens up to reveal a pocket for a gift card. This card was cased from Susie Nelson on SCS. I only added the ribbon and scored the card to fold differently so it would hold the gift card.
Materials: Watercolor paper, Soft Sky and Gable Green card stock, Soft Sky DP, A Little Birdie Told Me stamp set, swirl from Season of Joy stamp set, black StazOn ink, bashful blue and ruby red markers for ink to use with the aqua painter, circle punches, ticket corner punch, celery ribbon, sticky strip. The inside (gable green panel) has the sticky strip on each end to form a pocket for the gift card. Hope she likes it!
