Watercolor Trio From the Heart

Inspiration for this card came from a layout I found in a recent Stampin' Up! demonstrator magazine.  I chose the Watercolor Trio flowers stamp set which is available in the Summer Mini Catalog until 8/31/10.  This stamp set is available in clear or wood mount.

The stems were inked with an Always Artichoke inkpad.  Before stamping, a blender pen was used to wipe the color off the flowers, which were then colored with a Ruby Red marker.  The marker was also used to ink the edge of  the  small sentiment layer.

The inside of the card is stamped along the bottom edge with the same stems.  I really like this combination of Ruby Red and Always Artichoke.   The Ruby Red will be retiring, but I think this card would also look great with Cherry Cobbler, one of the new colors that will be in the new Idea Book and Catalog,  available July 1st.

God!s Beauty butterfly

I've been wanting to do something with this lovely butterfly for several weeks. It is a Level 1 Hostess set. I thought a brayered background would be nice for this one.

First, I stamped the butterfly in Jet Black StazOn ink. Then I worked on the background. I brayered the sky with Cool Carribean ink. I tried to leave a light area over the butterfly. Next, I worked on the green part. I started out with Gable Green, then deepened the color with deeper shades of green, ending with Garden green as the darkest value. Then I used my finger to apply chalks to add even more depth in color. I also added dark blue chalk to the edge of the card in the sky area. The pink color above the butterfly was made with red chalk, smoothing it in with my fingers. I added grass from the Inspired by Nature stamp set with Garden Green ink. The little flowers on some of the blades of grass were hand drawn with a fine marker.

The butterfly was colored with markers. This was really a fairly quick card to make. The brayering goes fast, and that's the hardest part.

One More Upsy Daisy for you!

Here's another Upsy Daisy card. This one was inked up with Pink, then the olive marker was used on the stems before stamping. It covers the pink stems beautifully!


The card background is the grass from Inspired by Nature. It was stamped in Kiwi Kiss on Pretty in Pink paper.


This was another one of my swaps at the Orlando Regional seminar a short time back. I love the layout of this card. Hope you do too!

Upsy Daisy birthday

I chose this stamp set to make swaps for the Orlando Regional Seminar this coming weekend.
The daisies are inked with Pretty in Pink ink, then I went over the stems with an Old Olive marker. Because the pink ink is so light in color, it is easily covered with the olive marker.
After stamping on white the white card I sponged Kiwi Kiss ink around the edges. I then matted it on a piece of Kiwi Kiss card stock. That piece was layered on Pink, then a white card. The sentiment comes from the same stamp set. I punched it out with the large oval punch and put a length of olive green poly twill ribbon behind the sentiment. It was really fairly quick to make this card. Hope you like it!
