Take it to Heart

So many people are getting Valentines ready and it's only early January!  Well, I've been inspired  by some of the pretty cards I've seen so here is my first attempt for this year's Valentines!

I've had this lovely Sizzlits Large Paper Doily cut out for sometime and wanted to use it.  A cute silhouette image from the Take it to Heart stamp set (retired) was what I needed. It was stamped with Basic Black pigment ink and embossed with black embossing powder.  I cut it out with my paper snips and layered it on a small heart-shaped die cut, sponged the edges, and popped it up on the doily.

The  layer behind the doily is a narrow strip of Melon Mambo card stock, embossed with the Perfect Polka Dots embossing folder, and cut out with the Apothecary Accents Framelits dies.

The sentiment is from Whimsical Words stamp set, retired.  It  was cut out in a free-form design.

The colors used are Melon Mambo, Basic Gray, and Basic Black.
The inside of the card is finished with a layer of Whisper White card stock and a scalloped  edge border.

This card qualifies for the PALS PAPER ARTS color challenge (PPA150) using Melon Mambo, Basic Black, and Basic Gray.  Follow the link to see other creations for this color challenge.
Thanks for stopping by.  Hope you have fun creating your favorite valentine card!
