Popped up Petals

When a petal is popped up it  makes a great impact!  Look at this card and you will see what I mean.

The petal was heat embossed and colored in with an Aqua painter and ink refills.  Then it was cut out with paper snips and popped up in the circle with dimensionals.


The stems of flowers were stamped to create a pattern across the card.

The last photo shows how the inside of the card was  finished.
It's so bright and cheerful I know I'll love sending it to someone special!

Emboss Resist Technique

I love to see pretty tags on holiday gifts...

and the Emboss Resist technique is a fun way to make them.
The design was stamped in VersaMark ink on a piece of white card stock.  It was embossed with white embossing powder.  I like to use an embossing buddy before stamping so that the embossing powder will stay where it belongs when the heat tool is used.

Wild Wasabi ink was sponged over the embossed areas with a sponge.  Rhinestones were used to decorate and add some bling.  A Merry Christmas banner was popped up with dimensionals to finish it off.  The tag is layered on a piece of Wild Wasabi card stock.  These tags are large enough to create a scene or a collage design.
The green tag is 3" x 5 1/2".



The blue tag below was made with one of the Chalk Talk framelits.  I made the tag longer than the size of the framelit by adjusting my cutting plates.  The finished tag measures 2 1/2" x 5 ".  Here's how it was done:
First I completed my stamping on a piece of white card stock. Then I  positioned the framelit over the stamped area that I wanted to include on the tag.
 Next I cut the top of the tag, keeping the top cutting plate above the bottom edge of the tag.
 To make the second cut I moved the framelit down the tag to make the tag longer.  I kept the framelit in the cutting line, and  kept the top cutting plate below the top of tag.  Then I made the cut without cutting the top of the tag. Not so hard to do, and I was able to add extra length to the tag to accommodate my design.  The tag was layered over a piece of card stock.
The colors of the ink and card stock are Marina Mist.  The ribbon is Baja Breeze seam binding, but the colors blend very nicely.

Creative Elements embossed

I've been anxious to use this beautiful flourish for several days.  I finally decided it was so elegant it should be embossed.  I used VersaMark ink and gold detail embossing powder on So Saffron card stock.  It proved to be as beautiful as I expected.  The butterfly was stamped and embossed on the card,  then stamped, embossed again, and cut out to layer over the first one. 
I used the Adorning Accents Edgelit to sculpt the edge of the card.  A touch of a Crumb Cake marker along the curved edge gave it just enough detail to make it pop from the card.  (This is probably  not visible from the photo.)  This card layer was attached with Stampin' Up  Dimensionals.

Inside, a verse from the Trust God stamp set was inked in Basic Gray Ink.  The flourish image was stamped again in VersaMark and embossed with gold EP.  I will be using this as a sympathy card.

Up to Bat kid's card

I made this little card last week.  I don't know where the stamp came from, as it is unmarked.  The sentiment and star are from So Happy For You stamp set by Stampin' Up!
I have some grandsons that love baseball, so this should be perfect for one of them.
The image was embossed with black embossing powder and colored with an Aqua Painter and inks.  The background was added with pastels and sponge daubers.

This is a single layer card, quick and easy!

{Freshly Made} sketches challenge

I'm getting a head start with this cute birthday card for my grandson who has a birthday at the end of March.
The stamp sets I used are Under the Stars, Bring on the Cake, and Crazy for Cupcakes.  Both heat  embossing and dry embossing were used.

The  Happy Birthday greeting was stamped inside, along with more embossed stars.

I hope my grandson likes this card.   Sometimes it's hard to make cute cards for boys!!  This {Freshly Made} challenge makes the job much easier. I don't have to work so hard on the layout!
