Shaker or not

Here's a card that I made for a swap.  I liked how it turned out so I decided to make a shaker card out of it!
I used the Stampin' Up shaker frames which really simplify making a shaker card.

The card stock colors are Real Red, Gumball Green, and Whisper White.  The stamp set  Occasions Alphabet was used for the M, and the rest of the stamp's sentiment was stamped inside the card.
The Northern Flurry embossing folder made the perfect background for my card.
Other supplies include chunky glitter, crystal effects to attach the glitter, Window sheet, regular  glitter, shaker frame, Apothecary Labels framelits, and a circle punch.

I found that tapping the inside of the window sheet with an embossing buddy helped keep the glitter from sticking to the window sheet.  This was a fun project to do.  Hope you like it!

Glimmer Tree card

This card is so pretty in real life, but I'm disappointed in the quality of the photo.  The champagne glimmer paper really sets this card off! 

The inside is trimmed with a narrow strip of the glimmer paper, and a repeat of the scallop trim  border finishes it off. The Merry Christmas is from the Hand-Penned Holidays set (retired). Colors are Garden Green, Very Vanilla, and Sahara Sand.

Warm Winter memories

I saw a card on Stampin' Connection that used this sketch.  I liked how the ice skates (from the Warm Winter Wishes) fit into the Apotheary Accents framelits.
The snowflakes were punched with the Bigz Snow Flurry die.  I used a sponge and a little Bashful  Blue ink to add color to the snowflakes.  Blue rhinestones (non SU) were added to the centers.
The pretty pleated ribbon (retired) is Riding Hood Red and the card stock is Marina Mist.

Mini-Lunch Bag Party Favor

Hello there! Thanks for stopping by today.  I want to share this cute party favor bag made from Stampin' Up's mini lunch sack.

The sack was covered with a snowflake pattern made with the retired Bold Snowflakes jumbo wheel and some Always Artichoke ink.  The front is decorated with a strip of Deck the Halls designer paper, layered over a piece of Cherry Cobbler card stock.

The main decoration is made from around circle of Crumb Cake card stock which was glittered with some Silver Chunky Glitter and Multipurpose liquid glue.  A scallop circle is layered over the circle, and a Crumb Cake oval tops it all.  This little treat bag was filled with some yummy candy treats.

A simple bow was tied from artichoke seam binding and attached to the bag with a medium-sized paper clip.
Everyone loved receiving one of these at my last stamping event!

Gold Embossed Ornament

Good morning, everyone! I decided to give this card an elegant look with some heat embossing. I love the look of this technique and I forget about using it as often as I should!
The ornament stamp was heat embossed with gold E.P. and then punched out with the ornament punch. A piece of gold cord holds the ornament.
The Merry Christmas sentiment was also heat embossed. The Night of Navy card stock is layered over a piece of brushed gold card stock. The petals-a-plenty decorative embossing folder was used to create the next layer. Inside I have used the new scallop border punch that will be available on Jan 5 from the Occasions mini-catalog. I love how the punched border dresses up the inside of the card.

Shimmering Ornament

I've been making a few more cards with the Delightful Decorations stamp set and the ornament punch. I saw a card somewhere and the artist used the grass from Inspired by Nature for the Christmas tree. I loved her idea and this card is my version. The ornament is stamped in Riding Hood Red and then brushed with Champagne Mist Shimmer Paint. The card base was decorated with the retired snowflakes jumbo wheel and Riding Hood Red ink. Other card stock and ink I used are Handsome Hunter, and Whisper White paper. Some gold cord was tied around the top of the ornament as an embellishment. Inside, you can get a peek of the new scallop border punch that will be available Jan. 6.
I will have one more Christmas card to share tomorrow, then I'll be working in somethig new!

Season of Joy tree

This quick and fun card is a case of a layout in the 2009-2010 idea book and catalog.
You'll find it on page 60.
I wanted to do something bright and cheerful, but very easy. This card was exactly what I needed!
Colors are Real Red and Handsome Hunter inks and card stock. Inside I layered a piece of Whisper White card stock and stamped the Merry Christmas sentiment. At the bottom I added the swirl image from this set, stamped in Handsome Hunter. The tree is decorated with Dazzling Diamonds glitter applied over a 2-way glue pen. The little poinsettias are punched out with a 1/2" circle punch and attached with dimensionals. Ribbon is 1/2" red striped grosgrain. Clean cut, easy to do card. Hope you enjoy it!

Cold and Cuddly Walrus

I would like to share another card with the cute Cold and Cuddly stamp set!
These stamps are available in the Holiday mini catalog. The card base is Real Red, and is layered with a strip of Chocolate Chip. That layer was paper pierced at the top and bottom,(hard to see in the photo), then tied with a piece of 1/2" red striped grosgrain ribbon. The strip is layered with a piece of Patterns designer series paper in chocolate chip. The walrus is stamped in Chocolate Chip ink on Whisper White card stock, and layered over a piece of Chocolate Chip paper. The corners were punched with the ticket corner punch.

The sentiment is stamped in Chocolate chip and punched out with the small and large oval punches.

I like how the ribbon repeats the stripe in the little red hat. The walrus was masked so that the ice could be stamped behind him. The inside of the card has a piece of white card stock that is stamped in the lower left corner with the North Pole stamp from this set, and a Merry Christmas greeting is stamped in Real Red ink.

Patterned Pines Gift Tag

Today I am sharing an easy gift tag that my Stamp-a-Stack group made recently. It uses the Hostess Set Patterned Pines. Supplies used were Bravo Burgundy and Always Artichoke ink and paper, white card stock, sponge dauber, small oval punch, scallop border punch, and round tab punch. The patterned paper is retired, but any other paper would work just as well!
I used 3 little rhinestones to decorate the tree. They don't show up in the photo, but do add some bling when you look at it in real life. This was such an easy project to put together! Best Wishes & More card

This pretty card will be one of my Stamp-a-Stack Christmas cards at my workshop this month. It actually uses several stamp sets. The fun part was deciding how to make the "song" ripple on the paper. I made a mask to go over the card front with the rippled shape cut out. The red images were stamped over the cut out area. So easy to do!
Supplies: Whisper White and Riding Hood Red card stock, Handsome Hunter and R.H. red ink, Stamp sets: Best Wishes and More, Peaceful Wishes.
Accessories: Red Organza Ribbon, dimensionals.

Season of Joy tree

I loved this set when it came out in last year's mini catalog. I am thrilled that it was chosen for the big catalog. It is so versatile because it can be either casual or elegant. The tree stamp is one of my favorites in this set.

This card uses the same basic layout as the one I posted recently using Scandinavian Season. It is a tent-fold card with a panel of designer paper and a few embellishments. The ric-rac strip was made with the scallop border punch. Three gold brads finish the embellishment.

After photographing this card I decided to add a little glitter to the star on top. Actually, I like it either way!

A Scandinavian Season

Here's one of my first creations in a series of Christmas cards for this year. It uses Riding Hood Red and Baja Breeze card stock, with paper from the Ski Slope designer paper pack. The card is folded from the top and has an easy layout to follow.

The tree was stamped on Whisper White card stock with Baja Breeze ink. The flower was stamped again on a white scrap and cut out. Using a two-way glue stick, glitter was added to the swirls on the tree. The flower was attached with a square ice rhinestone brad.

I love this pretty designer paper's lacy look. It fits so well with the tree stamp. For a final touch I added a piece of silver ribbon under the main image. Hope you enjoy it!

Festive Favorites card

This delightful card was inspired by a card created by Andrea Walford. I chose red grosgrain instead of white for my card, and added the tag at the bottom. This paper from Stampin' Up! just shouts the word Christmas to me! I don't know if you can see the glitter, but it is on both the tag and the reindeer strip.

Doodle This Poinsettia

I really love glitter on a Christmas card! I decided to use the flower from the Doodle This stamp set to make a flower. I stamped it on two squares of white card stock and colored them with my real red marker. Next, I used my VersaMark pad to cover the flower, poured Heat n' Stick powder on top and heated it just enough to melt the powder. Then I covered it with Dazzling Diamonds glitter and heated it again. I cut it out and set it aside. I used my VersaMarker to go over the colored parts of the second flower, then repeated the same process with Heat n' Stick powder and glitter. I placed the cut-out flower on top of the other one, and attached one of my new Fire Circles Rhinestone brads in the center. I added a few squiggles of green with a marker and assembled the card.

It's hard to see in the scan, but I dry-embossed the square shape on the card front using a cardboard template and my Empressor embossing tool. Hope you like the finished card!
