Just Believe dressed up

I've made a quick and fun card to share with you !  I've used the Just Believe stamp set for the main image.  It is stamped in Basic Black ink on Perfect Plum card stock.  I love the silhouette look for a clean and simple card.

To dress it up a bit I punched 5 little flowers from Pretty in Pink card stock, using the Itty Bitty Shapes punch pack. I placed them somewhat randomly and added a mini pearl to each flower center.  

 A piece of Pink Taffeta ribbon was added around the middle. The Thank You sentiment from my favorite Teeny Tiny Wishes stamp set was stamped and punched out with the small oval punch. The Plum card was attached to the pink card  base with Stampin' Dimensionals.

 This card was inspired by a design from Linda Aarhus.  I loved the layout immediately, but made a few changes in details.  I think this one would be lovely in any of our pretty pastel colors, don't you?

Season of Joy tree

This quick and fun card is a case of a layout in the 2009-2010 idea book and catalog.
You'll find it on page 60.
I wanted to do something bright and cheerful, but very easy. This card was exactly what I needed!
Colors are Real Red and Handsome Hunter inks and card stock. Inside I layered a piece of Whisper White card stock and stamped the Merry Christmas sentiment. At the bottom I added the swirl image from this set, stamped in Handsome Hunter. The tree is decorated with Dazzling Diamonds glitter applied over a 2-way glue pen. The little poinsettias are punched out with a 1/2" circle punch and attached with dimensionals. Ribbon is 1/2" red striped grosgrain. Clean cut, easy to do card. Hope you enjoy it!

Delightful Doodles focal point

Here's a closeup of the flower. I stamped it twice on designer paper and once on Night of Navy card stock. After cutting them out, I rolled the petals of one f lower in toward the center and stuck the tips to a dimmensional dot. I layered the flowers up and attached them with glue dots. A tiny rhinestone was glued to the flower center with a drop of crystal effects.

Of course, I had to stamp the inside of the card with a matching bit of scroll work!

Inspired by Nature Sympathy Card

I needed a sympathy card this week. I chose this stamp from Inspired by Nature. I inked the stamp with markers using pale plum, perfect plum, and mellow moss.

The paper is pale plum, layered onto a base card of perfect plum.

The sentiment is from the retired set Watercolor Wishes. It's one of my favorites that I keep returning to when I need a sympathy card.

This is a simple yet eye-catching card. I like the way it turned out.

Inspired by Nature inside

Here's the inside of my Inspired by Nature card. The sentiment is from the retired set, Brighter Tomorrow. I really like this one. It says it all.

Part of the image is stamped in the corner. It was inked with markers, The grass was added as a little filler.

I like sending a sympathy card that is simple yet lovely. I hope this one works.

Embrace Life Birthday

I made this simple birthday card some time ago. I love the clean-cut look of it. It was stamped with the Embrace Life set in Old Olive ink on Certainly Celery card stock. The leaves were colored in with colored pencil.

The sentiment is sponged and attached with dimensionals and a brad.

A change of sentiment would make this card a lovely sympathy or Thinking of you card.

Season of Joy tree

I loved this set when it came out in last year's mini catalog. I am thrilled that it was chosen for the big catalog. It is so versatile because it can be either casual or elegant. The tree stamp is one of my favorites in this set.

This card uses the same basic layout as the one I posted recently using Scandinavian Season. It is a tent-fold card with a panel of designer paper and a few embellishments. The ric-rac strip was made with the scallop border punch. Three gold brads finish the embellishment.

After photographing this card I decided to add a little glitter to the star on top. Actually, I like it either way!

A Scandinavian Season

Here's one of my first creations in a series of Christmas cards for this year. It uses Riding Hood Red and Baja Breeze card stock, with paper from the Ski Slope designer paper pack. The card is folded from the top and has an easy layout to follow.

The tree was stamped on Whisper White card stock with Baja Breeze ink. The flower was stamped again on a white scrap and cut out. Using a two-way glue stick, glitter was added to the swirls on the tree. The flower was attached with a square ice rhinestone brad.

I love this pretty designer paper's lacy look. It fits so well with the tree stamp. For a final touch I added a piece of silver ribbon under the main image. Hope you enjoy it!

Sock Monkey card

This Sock Monkey card brings back memories of the sock monkeys my aunt used to make. They always looked so silly that they were funny! This little fellow is stamped in black StazOn ink and colored with markers and the Aqua Painter. The balloon is cut out, and the balloon string is actually a very thin strip of card stock. Our Stampin' Up! table top paper cutter does a great job of cutting the tiniest sliver of paper! I used a kraft knife to make slits on both sides of the left arm, and slipped the paper string through the slits. A piece of scotch tape on the back of the card holds it in place. The Just for You sentiment is punched out with the small oval punch and backed with a red oval from the larger oval punch. The background paper is the cute check pattern from the designer series Bella Rose papers. I usually paper-piece this monkey because I like to see different patterns on him, but this coloring technique was must faster, and I do like the effect! Hope you do too!

Embrace Life for you

I made this bright card for a swap. I love red, black and white cards!

The stem and flowers are from Embrace Life. It was stamped in black ink on whisper white card stock. The blossoms were stamped on real red card stock and cut out, then attached to the leaf stems. I colored the leaves with Metallic pencils so they have a nice shimmer.

The sentiment is from the Fresh Cuts stamp set. I decided to attach the white circle on the edge of the other circles for more interest. I was out of black brads, but I think the eyelet looks just fine! The focal point has a folded piece of gingham ribbon attached to the back, and is then layered on a real red layer, then again on a black card base.

This stamp set is quickly becoming one of my favorites. Hope you like it, too!

Oh, So Lovely poppy card

I just got around to mounting this stamp set, Oh, So Lovely.
I thought I'd try this poppy with a little watercoloring and markers. The flower is stamped with black StazOn ink on a piece of watercolor paper. The neat thing about watercolor paper is how it accepts the color. First, I used my Aqua Painter to wet the blossom area. Using my Real Red marker, I followed the edge of the flower. Using the Aqua Painter I pulled the color into the rest of the flower. I left the center uncolored. When dry, I used my YoYo Yellow marker to color in the center. I followed the stem lines with an Old Olive marker.
To assemble the card, I layered the image on a piece of black card stock, then again on a Going Gray card. I used my Mat Pack and paper piercing tool to make the decorative edge along the right side and bottom of the watercolor piece. Then I repeated the red color in the flower by punching out a red corner with the SU corner punch.
The whole piece was attached to a folded confetti white card which measures 3 1/4" x 6 1/2".
This set has two other long stemmed images which I plan to work on soon!

Sister Swap

I just thought I'd share a cute card from my sister, Cindy. We decided to swap 10 cards just for fun! Here's one of hers that I'll share with you.

She used that adorable elephant from In the Wild stamp set. It was stamped in Craft White ink on black card stock. She added some white gel pen accents and rounded the corners. Next, she made a scalloped border out of a black strip using the slit punch. It was placed behind a light gray card that had been stamped in Basic Gray ink with the Baroque Motif swirl. After rounding two of these corners, a piece of gray taffeta ribbon was tied around the card. The elephant was attached with dimmensionals. This whole thing was put on a tent-folded card of Basic Gray card stock.

How adorable! I can see this card being used for a birthday, get well, thinking of you, or any number of occasions! Thanks, Cindy, for a great card!

Bloomin' Beautiful Single Stem

I found this lovely layout in the SU catalog. I changed the sentiment and colors. This is the easiest card to make! The background is the Canvas stamp using Baja Breeze ink and paper. Kiwi Kiss paper is layered on the bottom. I stamped the flower from the Bloomin' Beautiful stamp set on watercolor paper using black StaZon ink. I colored it with Baja Breeze and Kiwi Kiss ink refills and an Aqua Painter. After cutting it out I attached it to the edge of the Kiwi Kiss paper. The sentiment is from the retired set, Blossoms Abound. This card measures approximately 3 1/4" wide by 5 1/2" tall.
