Embossed Resist Beauty

I hadn't tried the Embossed Resist technique for a while.  This People Like You stamp worked perfectly for this technique.
The card was stamped with White Craft ink and heat embossed with  White EP.
Midnight Muse ink was sponged over the image in a circular motion until the darkest shade of ink was reached.
I added a small piece of stitched ribbon and a small white brad as a small embellishment to finish the card.
I enjoyed using this technique today.  I think I'd like to try it again using other colors!

Supplies:
Stamps: People Like You (see Occasions Spring Catalog)
Card Stock: Whisper White, Midnight Muse
Ink: White Craft ink, Midnight Muse classic ink
Accessories: Stampin' Sponges, Heat Tool, Embossing Buddy, 3/8" stitched satin ribbon, small white brad

Glamorous Gold birthday card

A very special birthday deserves a special card.  This card uses the gold foil sheets to the best advantage.

The photo doesn't show off the true color of the gold foil sheets, but you can tell it has shine to it.
The stamp set People Like You has these beautiful flowers.  They were stamped in VersaMark ink and heat embossed with gold embossing powder that has some gold glitter in it.  The flowers wer cut out and tucked behind the edge of the foil strip.  I think it looks like a flower box!

The gold foil was embossed with the Modern Mosaic embossing folder.  A piece of 1/8" basic black taffeta ribbon was tied on a knot.

This card was made like a file folder by using the envelope punch board.
The top inside has the greeting on the tab, and the area for writing is layered So Saffron over a Basic Black card.
The birthday greeting is from the hostess set Express Yourself.
The smallest flower was stamped in Smoky Slate ink, using a Stamp-a-ma-jig for accurate placement.

The sentiment was punched out with the Decorative Label punch and layered over a piece of  Wisteria Wonder card stock  cut out with  a die from the Apothecary Arts framelit.

I like how versatile this stamp can be when you look at each of the elements and start creating.

People Like You card

I   fancied up one of the new stamp sets, People Like You, that will be available beginning Friday when the Occasions Spring Catalog becomes active.
I used the large paper doily sizzlit die (#125592) to add a layer behind the main image.  I like it on this card because it adds depth to the card front.

Sponge daubers were used to shade the background.   The little banners were added at the bottom of the card to provide a base as well as pull the colors to the bottom of the card.
The color of the card base and ink for the flowers is Strawberry Slush, one of the 2013 - 2015 collection of In Colors.
Other colors used on the card are Wild Wasabi, Soft Sky, Soft Suede, and Whisper White.

I stamped the smaller flower on the inside of the card by inking it up with a marker.
A marker was also used to fill in some of the lines that were not on the stamp image.
I'm sure I'll be making more cards with this pretty stamp soon.
So glad you stopped by!
