Fast and Fabulous Birthday card

This pretty birthday card was made with the Fast and Fabulous Hostess set, Sweet Summer Sale-a-bration, Perfectly Penned, and Yippee Skippee stamp sets.  I've seen several cards that have used this open circle design, and I was anxious to give it a try.

 Here's how I made it:
I stamped the green leaves and colored them with a marker.
Stamped flower image on scrap paper (using Stamp-a-ma-jig) and cut it out.
Stamped the greeting, cut it out with paper snips, glued it to Basic Black card stock, then cut it out again.
Stamped the inside.
Cut out circle with die and Big Shot.
Assembled the card.

Lovely Lattice birthday

 

This card idea came from a similar card I found on Stampin' Connection that was made by Loretta Springer.  I enjoyed how easy it was to make!.  Cutting the paper took longer than anything!

Supplies:

Stamp set: Watercolor Trio (sentiment) retired

Accessories: Lattice Bigz die cut and Big Shot, BoHo Blossoms punch, large oval punch, scallop oval punch,  Pearl basic jewels, 3/8" stitched satin ribbon, 1/8' taffeta ribbon

Papers: Whisper White, Daffodil Delight and Regal Rose card stock, Brights DSP paper stack.

This card would be appropriate for many occasions by simply changing the sentiment.

Mixed Bunch for a friend

I love this stamp set and it's beautiful designs on the flowers.  It is so easy to make a pretty card with very little effort.
I saw this layout on line and don't remember who originally designed it.  I did make some changes for my card.  I used the Fun Flowers die to make the red layer behind the punched flower image.  I also  chose the new Fancy Fan embossing folder.
My bow was tied with red grosgrain and  attached with a glue dot. 
This Thinking of You card  is a get well card for a friend who had surgery recently.  I'm hoping that the red and white color combination will cheer her up!

Baby shower favors

 

I was asked  to make some favors for a recent  baby shower.  The invitation was decorated with jungle animals, so I incorporated that theme on the  favors I was making.  The little striped outfit from the retired Hostess set A Slice of Life was used, omitting the  little  hanger.  The Fun Flowers die and Sizzix Big Shot were used to make the layers of flowers, and the Dotted Scallop Ribbon Border Punch was added to the animal strip behind the flowers.

The back of the favor was stamped with an image  from the retired Long Time Friends stamp set.  It was selected because it went so well with the contents inside: little packets of wildflower seeds.

The seed packets went so well with the little verse on the back that was composed by the future grandmother.

The  seed packets were made from circles of tulle, tied up with sheer ribbon.  The Extra-large and Large Tag Punches were used to punch out the computer-generated planting instructionsas well as the So Saffron tag behind  that was embossed with the polka dots embossing folder.  

The favor was cut with the Framelits Dies Labels Collection.

This was a fun project to plan and make, although it was time consuming.

Autumn Days, A Clean and Simple card

Here's a quick post for you today.  This card was made with Always Artichoke, Cherry Cobbler, and Whisper White card stock.  The pheasant was stamped with chocolate chip ink and colored in with pastels and watercolor pencils.  It was stamped on the large oval  that was cut out with the Ovals die cut # 114525.

My sister, Cindy Rigel is my guest stamper who created this card for me!   I'll be showing you more of her work in the next couple of weeks.  I love the clean and simple look of the card.

Soft and Subtle Popped up Daisies

This card uses the little Daisies Sizzlits, the Petals-a-Plenty embossing folder, and the Very Vintage Jumbo wheel.  I fell in love with this pretty layout when I saw a card by Jolene Slack in the May demonstrator magazine.  It was the inspiration for my version using the supplies I have on hand.       I chose Barely Banana and Bashful Blue as my main colors, with Certainly Celery as an accent color. The daisies were sponged around the edges with More Mustard ink, and the wheel was also inked with the same color. 

Inside the card I have used the wheel to create a strip along the right edge.

Other supplies used are the Bigz Scallop Square Clear Die, Certainly Celery grosgrain ribbon,  1/2" small circle punch, and a half-pearl from the Pretties Kit.

I like this soft and summery look.  Hope you do too!

Birthday Butterflies

I

I made this 4 1/2" square card for a special  family birthday celebration.  It features the embosslitts die "Beautiful Wings" that has been so popular in the Occasions Mini Catalog.  After cutting them out with the die I sponged the edges and the embossed area with Regal Rose ink.
The 3 circles were punched out with the 1 1/4" circle punch.  The white paper behind them was stamped with the vine from Vintage Vogue stamp set.
I love using the Tea Party DSP. It worked out nicely on this card.  I picked out the colors in the paper for the card  base and ink colors.

I really enjoy making square cards.  They seem to be just a bit more special than a regular size fold.

Movers and Shapers square card

Here is my first card using my new Movers and Shapers die. I chose Gable Green and Wild Wasabi card stock.  I like the way the whole card is cut out while the center is removed at the same time.  
I stamped the flower from the Enjoy Every Moment stamp set and cut it out.  The ribbon is Wild Wasabi striped grosgrain. 
 I used a verse from the Best Wishes and More stamp set for the sentiment on the card front. 

The next photo shows how I decorated the inside.  Although I like the DSP across the center, it doesn't leave much room to add a personal message.

I'm looking forward to experimenting some more with this new (to me) die cut.

Scallop Square card with Butterfly

I recently purchased the clear scallop square die and have been wanting to use it. When I saw this pretty pink Specialty DSP in the Spring Mini Catalog, I knew they would work together for a pretty project. The scallop die measures about 4 3/8" square, so I cut my base card at 4 1//2".
I did a lot of sponging to make the scallops pop.
I layered the DSP on white card stock and centered them on the scallop.
To make the butterfly I stamped the vine from Vintage Vogue with Black Craft ink on vellum card stock. Next, I heat embossed it with black E.P. Then I ran it through the Big Shot with the Bigz Beautiful Butterflies Die. I colored it on the back with my Regal Rose marker.
The sentiment is from the Well Scripted stamp set.

Inside, I stamped the vine again using Regal Rose Ink. I added the flower with a dimensional. The little butterfly was made with the Beautiful Wings embosslit die. More product details listed below.

Shades of Spring Mother's Day card

Here is a card I designed for Mother's Day. I chose Lavender Lace as the base card and layered a piece of Shades of Spring designer paper on top of it. The flower petals were cut with the Sizzix die Flower Layers. I cut the 3 pieces each out of both Lavender Lace card stock and the Designer paper. Using a lot of layers makes the flower so full and pretty! The flower center is a Circle Fire Rhinestone brad.
A piece of 3" x 3 1/2" Pretty in Pink was run through the Sizzix with an embossing folder.
Next I wrapped a piece of Celery ribbon around the card before attaching it to the card base.
Two celery leaves were cut out with the Bigz Birds with Leaves and Flower die.
The sentiment ( from the Well Scripted stamp set) was stamped with Lavender Lace ink on Whisper White paper. It was punched out with the scallop oval punch and inked on the edges. It was layered on top of a wide oval of Lavender Lace card stock.

This elegant card is very simple to make. Actually, the only stamping is the sentiment, so it can be assembled quickly.



On the inside of the card I added a layer of Whisper White card stock, topped with a strip of Certainly Celery, and then a strip of DSP over that. Next I cut out one of the flower images from the designer paper and popped it up on top with a dimensional dot. I love decorating the inside of a card. It just seems to tie everything together!

Chocolate Bunny treat pouch

Here's a little treat pouch that was made from the Sizzix Pillow Box die cut. My customers all got one as a thank you in their orders this month.

The Chocolate Bunny stamp from the Occasions mini-catalog is clear embossed on Close to Cocoa paper. He was cut out and popped up on one of the Sending Love Kisses notes. It is wheeled in Certainly Celery ink with the Very Vintage wheel (also available in the mini catalog.)

The little flower comes from A Good Egg stamp set, as does the Happy Easter greeting that's been punched out with a word window punch.
Stampin' Up celery grosgrain ribbon was wrapped around the pouch and tied with a piece of pink crochet thread. I was lucky to have some that matched the paper color so perfectly!

Tips: This little die cut goes together easily if it is cut out of card stock. I found the DSP was too light weight to make a sturdy pouch. Also, I found that going over the crease lines with my bone folder made assembly much easier. I put the long side seam together first using Sticky Strip.
Just tuck a little sweet treat inside! The ends will fold in nicely and don't need any adhesive if you plan to use ribbon around the pouch.

Beautiful Wings

Today's card uses the new Beautiful Wings embosslits die. I just love these little butterflies!
This die embosses and cuts them out at the same time- 5 of them!
I chose the colors Mellow Moss and Pretty in pink for this card. A Very Vanilla piece was embossed with the Perfect Polka Dots embossing folder and sponged with ink around the edges.
The dsp is from the retired Recollections paper collection. I chose the designer label punch to layer up the greeting from the retired Punch Box Tags set. The light pink gingham ribbon carries the color across the card and ties it all together. I was happy with the way this card turned out! Hope you like it too!

Daisies gate-fold card

This card was designed by my Guest Stamper and sister, Cindy Rigel. She traveled with us on our recent trip to Cancun. She chose these colors to reflect some of the bright colors we saw in the clothing and art in Mexico.
This card has a base of Cameo Coral , layered with two panels of Gable Green. They were distressed on the edges and attached to the two sides of the gate fold card. The little flower design was stamped with VersaMark on the green layers as well as inside the card. That image is part of the Delightful Decorations stamp set.
A belly band was cut from a piece of turquoise designer paper. It holds the card closed and slips off to open it up.
The gorgeous flower was made from the Sizzix die cut Daisies 2. Each flower piece was sponged on the petal edges with Cameo Coral ink before layering to make the flower. A Gable Green center was punched out with the 1/2" circle punch and attached to the card with a dimensional. The center was glittered with a 2-way glue pen and Dazzling Diamonds glitter. This was such a fun and easy card to make!

Birds & blooms

This cute card as made with the Birds & Blooms and Little Leaves sizzlit dies. I chose the Merry Christmas sentiment from the hostess set, Holiday Best. I'm thinking that this card would be just as nice for a Valentine by just changing the sentiment! What do you think?
I like how the striped grosgrain ribbon ties it all together. I used the little horizontal slot punch to make the tiniest cut on the fold of the card and the front edge so I could wrap the ribbon around the front. That way it shows in the inside front of the card.
The colors used on this card are Riding Hood Red and Certainly Celery. The little birds are sponged with ink around the edges as well as the leaves that extend beyond the ovals.
This card finishes up my holiday stamping for this year! I hope you've been inspired just a little bit!

Christmas Gift Tag

Don't you love making gift tags? They are so much fun, and they really dress up a package! This tag uses the birds and blooms and little leaves sizzlits dies. The snowflakes are from the Patterned Pines hostess set, and are stamped in Bashful Blue ink. The tags are cut out with a punch and the top layer was punched out and trimmed down so it would fit on the red tag. I hope this will inspire you to make some gift tags for your packages!

Autumn Splendor

re Today's card is from the Autumn Splendor set, available in the Holiday Mini Catalog (#16503 $20.95). The card base was made from Old Olive card stock and folded at the top. I wanted some kind of background so I chose the retired jumbo wheel Rough Texture and Old Olive ink. I really like using the Top Note die cuts, so I cut them from Really Rust card stock and Old Olive dsp, trimmed and layered them on the background. They made a perfect base for placing the leaf and acorn images that were stamped on Only Orange scraps, colored and embossed with Clear EP. The lovely sentiment is from the retired stamp set, Elegant Greetings. It was stamped on Very Vanilla paper with Really Rust ink. Inside the card you will find layers of Really Rust and Very Vanilla paper. They are stamped with the leaf images in the lower and top right corners. This card was fun to make. Autumn Splendor

This pretty stamp set is available in the new Holiday Mini catalog.

The largest leaf image from the Autumn Splendor set was stamped on watercolor paper with StazOn ink. It was colored with ink refills and an Aqua Painter, and layered on a piece of Only Orange cardstock. The olive green dsp was used for the Top Note die cut. It was sponged with Old Olive ink.

The little acorns also stamped on watercolor paper and were shaded with really rust and only orange inks.
A touch of orange ribbon completes this card.

On Your Birthday

This pretty card was cased from Mary Brown on her StamperCamper's Blog. I used Apricot Appeal for the base card, then layered a strip of Tea Party DSP and a strip of Certainly Celery on top. The grosgrain ribbon is celery, and it was one of the Sale-a-bration free products last year.
The sentiment from On Your Birthday stamp set was inked up with markers. A little paper piercing was done in two of the corners, and a die cut daisy was added at the corner. This was really a quick card to make. I love the fresh, clean look of it!

Butterfly Note Card

I love the new Beautiful Butterfly die.
I found this cute card by Qbee and I just had to give it a try! I've used the Tea Party designer paper, Pink Pirouette and Whisper White card stock, and Handsome Hunter ink. The sentiment is from Fresh Cuts stamp set.
This card was so easy to do. The paper is double sided and just cut diagonally and flipped one piece over.
I used the stamp-a-ma-jig to position the sentiment since the space was so narrow. The butterfly diecut is attached with a dimensional.
I think I'll be making some more of these!

Beautiful Medallion card

This medallion is really easy to make! I followed a great tutorial by Becca Feeken. Her cards are fabulous!

This card features a center stamp from the True Friend stamp set, as well as Mellow Moss, Always Artichoke, Sahara Sand and some retired designer paper. The heart corner punch makes the design in the circle.

The punched out circle is beautiful by itself, but, of course, I had to add some embellishments in the center. The scallop circle is made from one of the scallop circle Spellbinders Nestabilities dies and the tag is also a Spellbinders die. The Happy Birthday sentiment is from Paper Trey Ink. I put a SU Fire Circle rhinestone brad in the center.
